Millennial Move Makers are selected by PULSE, The Greater New Haven Chamber’s young professional organization. They waded through all of the nominations that flooded in to pick the absolute best and brightest. This event is to celebrate those that shatter the status quo and break the mold!
Adwoa Dadzie: Vice President of Human Resources, Comcast- Western New England Region
In this role, Dadzie is responsible for strategically executing all aspects of the human resources function throughout the region, which serves customers in more than 300 communities in Connecticut, western Massachusetts, western New Hampshire, Vermont and New York. Her roles have been varied, and include responsibility of safety, health and wellness, compensation design and analysis, organizational culture, employee relations, labor awareness and negotiations, organizational design, change management, talent development and talent acquisition.
Katy Gagnon: Project Engineer, Langan Engineering
Katy works on a variety of land development projects across Connecticut and has over 15 active and completed projects in New Haven. Some of these projects include: the new Dr. Reginald Mayo Early Childhood School; the Boathouse at Canal Dock; and the Connecticut Tennis Center.
EJ Catala: Vice President of Operations, United Personnel
EJ has quickly engaged with the greater New Haven community getting involved in the business community and various community organizations, including the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce, Middlesex Chamber of Commerce, Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce, New Haven Manufacturers Association, and the United Way New Haven Development Committee. Additionally, EJ played an active role on the New Haven Symphony Gala Committee and was recently unanimously elected to a three-year term as a Director for the New Haven Symphony’s Board of Directors.
Kevin Rocco: CEO, Biorez
Kevin Rocco serves as CEO at Borez and is on their Board of Directors. As CEO, Kevin has led a $1.5 million fundraising effort, rebranded the company, grown the Biorez team, filed new intellectual property, and launched a new preclinical study. Prior to joining Biorez, Kevin studied tissue engineering at Yale University, where he co-authored 17 publications in the field and was a part of the research team with the first US clinical study of a bioresorbable vascular graft in humans.
Linedy Genao, Broadway Star
Linedy attended a Broadway open call audition in NYC and was selected, with only high school theater experience (Hamden High). Linedy made her Broadway debut in the Original Broadway Cast Ensemble of On Your Feet! a musical based on the life story of the Latin superstar Gloria Estefan and her husband Emilio. She was also selected to understudy the lead role of Gloria Estefan since its first workshop presentation in 2014, and was the first understudy to go on as the lead role performing it over 70 times on the Broadway stage. Linedy graduated from UCONN with a degree in Business. After working in banking for five years, and thinking this would be her career path, her dream of performing unexpectedly came true. Linedy is also indebted to the GNHCC for their recognition and for allowing her to envision that dream years ago by having her sing the national anthem at two of their conferences.
Michel Boissy: CEO/Founder, Freshbev Craft Juicery™, RIPE Bar Juice®, RIPE Craft Juice®
Driven by his passion for providing the consumer with the best tasting and freshest products, Michel decided to start a project in his kitchen, that would soon blossom into the first Craft Juicery in the country. He created RIPE Bar Juice® and RIPE Craft Juice® to bring real fresh juice to the market, and to truly connect the farmer to the consumer by using only ingredients that could be traced back to the grower and region. Michel intends to continue revolutionizing the juice world and eventually turning it into a pasteurization-free environment for all!
Peter Schaller: Communications Director, United Way of Greater New Haven
Peter’s leadership at United Way has helped the organization shift from traditional marketing materials to real storytelling around the people United Way serves. His focus on interviewing and video production has helped United Way increase its social media presence and engagement with followers. Before United Way, Peter was a TV news reporter at CBS affiliates in West Palm Beach, Florida and Colorado. In his reporting career, he covered the 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns as well as general assignments with an interest in interviewing the real people behind the day’s big headlines.
