    Mark Nisbett is an accomplished Real Estate & Facilities Executive with over 25+ years in the industry representing major corporations in Healthcare, Insurance, Financial, Consumer Goods, Legal Firms and Class A facilities across the US supporting 6M SF and 230 properties. Mark is also President, Board of Directors, CoreNet Global CT/Westchester Chapter. In Mark’s current role as President & CEO of People Places and Spaces (PPS), Mark leads an organization focused on helping companies leverage the power of imagination to create workplaces that
    fosters collaboration and innovation while enabling the flexibility needed to evolve. PPS is a Preferred Haworth Dealer providing furniture solutions, demountable walls and raised access flooring. Mark leverages 25+ years experience representing fortune 500 corporations increase efficiency, reduce execution time, and enhance the customer experience. Over his tenure, Mark has partnered with major furniture manufacturers and dealers to deliver Advanced Workplace Solutions across the country. In his current capacity, Mark brings unique perspectives to clients and assists with creating forward thinking flexible workplace ecosystems that integrates with multi-generational workforces. PPS is currently applying for it’s Minority Business Enterprise Certification (MBE). 
    Previous roles included Director, Program & Integrated Project Management at Cigna Healthcare focused on developing strategic programs determining how we think, design and deliver advanced workplace solutions; several Vice President roles at Webster Bank leading Corporate Services, Facilities Management, Project Management, Construction and Occupancy Planning; Class A office space development with RPW Group delivering an incomparable level of tenant relationships and customer service; progressive Manager roles for Altria Corporate Services (formally Philip Morris) leading various facilities functions from furniture solutions to ergonomics; and Manager, Facilities Services at Weil Gotshal & Manges Law Firm opening up the mind, hearts and talent of his staff members on service delivery.     Juan Salas-Romer has more than 14 years of experience in the real estate industry in CT. He has been a lender to and an owner of multi-family housing units, apartment buildings and commercial properties. He has been developing and operating residential, commercial and hospitality properties leading to a vertically integrated group of companies doing in-house, as well as third party property management and development services.
    Under NHR Group’s property management division, the company manages more than 1100 residential and condo units, plus 400 thousand sqft of commercial property. While the group’s Development division has worked on the development of hotels in New Haven and West Hartford and is now working on a new hotel for New Haven.
    NHR Properties, the groups’ portfolio investment arm, owns multi-family, commercial and the New Haven Village Suites extended stay hotel in Longwharf. This year the company will planning the construction of 80 units starting in the summer of 2018.
    Juan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Entrepreneurship from Babson College and his MBA in Finance from Boston College.Currently he is on the Boards of New Haven’s Town Green Service District and the Connecticut Lodging Association.

     

    Louis Tagliatela -Franklin Communities has been helping house families in the Greater New Haven area for over 50 years. Owned by the Tagliatela family, Franklin Communities operates several apartment communities in Hamden, New Haven and North Haven. Their latest endeavor, Canal Crossing at Whitneyville West, has added 165 apartments to their portfolio to date, which now exceeds 1,000 units. When Canal Crossing is complete, a total of 393 Class-A apartment units will be added to the up and coming neighborhood of Whitneyville West.

Stephen Tagliatela recently founded the advocacy group Connecticut Tourism Coalition which works to give tourism a stronger voice by addressing legislative, regulatory and budget issues through public education. Through the Louis F. and Mary A. Tagliatela Foundation, the family has made substantial gifts to the local community, including The Tagliatela School of Engineering at University of New Haven and The Tagliatela School of Business and Leadership at Albertus Magnus. The family are also generous patrons of Saint Raphael's Hospital, The Preserve, Lyme Academy, and more.

     


    David Salinas is a serial entrepreneur and the founder and visionary behind District, a modern day technology and innovation ecosystem and real estate development, as well as the co-founder and former CEO of Digital Surgeons, a full-service digital agency servicing Fortune 500 clients. In addition, David recently founded the District Innovation and Venture Center, a 501c3 in an effort to support the technology and entrepreneurial needs of the region. 
    Back in 2002, David joined a start-up search engine marketing agency and played an integral part in the companies growth, driving client strategy and running the business development teams.
    David’s big shift to entrepreneurship started in 2006 where he co-founded Digital Surgeons and served as its CEO for over a decade. Under David’sleadership the agency delivered award-winning results for everyone from Lady Gaga to United Technologies. Today, Digital Surgeons is considered one of the preeminent privately owned agencies in the country, having won dozens of awards including the coveted Webby Award and was named Top Ten Agency for Startups.
    David is a mentor at Yale Entrepreneurial Institute (YEI), a fellowship program at the prestigious University that incubates early stage startups. In addition, he is a venture capitalist with plans to formally
    launchDistrictVentures, and an early-stage investment fund with portfolio companies such as Arccos and Fresh Nation.
    David serves on the Connecticut Innovation Council for US Senator Chris Murphy and is a founding board member of The Motivation Edge a nonprofit Youth Development Agency
    inFloridafocusedonimprovingthelivesofunder privileged youth.
    Recently David was included on the 40 Under 40 list of Connecticut Magazine and awarded 2018 Outstanding Entrepreneur Award in the University of New Haven’s inaugural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hall of Fame.
