The Business Community Perseveres
The 226th Annual Meeting of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce was postponed in April due to Covid-19. Since the pandemic hit, the business community has faced the pandemic by innovating, responding to changing customer demands, protecting the health of customers and employees, making difficult decisions, and ultimately preserving through historic conditions. Combining the Annual Meeting with our Annual Awards, we will use this virtual event to recognize the determination and resilience of our business community.
This year’s online event will feature a conversation with Yale New Haven Health CEO, Marna Borgstrom. We will officially welcome a new slate of Directors to the Chamber Board including recently elected Vice Chair, Howard K. Hill. We will recognize Heritage Award Honoree, the University of New Haven, as it celebrates 100 years of service.
In keeping with the Annual Awards program, we will also honor this year’s prestigious Community Leadership Award. In addition, we will honor businesses in the following categories: Technology & Innovation, Small Business, Community Partnership, Legislative Leader, Diversity & Inclusion Leadership, and our Chamber Volunteer of the Year.
All participants will be registered for a chance to win this year’s event grand prize which will feature the best food, entertainment, and rooming available in New Haven. In order to promote our local businesses, after the online event, we will have several meetup locations across New Haven. Each site will have a pre-registration process and limited capacity in order to maintain social distancing.
Don’t miss this year’s event. It’s not just another webinar. It will be the place for the entire regional business community to recognize the tremendous challenges we have faced this year and the way business has persevered – and why we will continue to be successful.
