Funhouse Comedy Club - Comedy Night in Grantham May 2022

Funhouse Comedy Club is back at the Guildhall Arts Centre Ballroom on Thursday May 19th for more fun and laughter. Topping the bill is true cockney, Jeff Innocent, comic, actor and star of both radio and TV, his last role being in 'Call the Midwife'; in 2016 he was voted Best Live Comedian by his fellow professionals. Looking like a bouncer but with the intellect of a university professor his sharp wit and confident charm draws the everyone into his lair, then he entertains them with his diverse mix of somewhat surreal subjects. Opening the night will be the fantastic magician and comedian Alan Hudson, who has appeared on ITV's Penn and Teller and more recently on ITV's Britain's Next Great Magician, where his balloon-popping trick went down a storm. Using his blend of stand up and stunning magic, he'll firstly charm you and then with his natural wit, draw you in to his super unnatural world. Also appearing is comedian and political activist Kate Smurthwaite. Regularly appearing on TV and Radio News Channels, she tackled Ken Clarke at her first appearance on Question Time in January. Winner of a 'Three Weeks Editor's Award' at the Edinburgh Festival, her appealing character and articulate address intrigues her audiences as she mesmerizes them with her unique observational humour. Completing the line-up is the wonderfully weird, original and clever Joey Page who has appeared on TV's 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks'. Compere for the night will be the lively and chatty Spiky Mike.
