    Leadership Greater New Haven (LGNH)
    A 6-session program for professionals of all levels working in the corporate, nonprofit, and government sectors.

    Traditional Leadership Training
    Program participants will receive traditional training that underscores various leadership and/or personality styles and strategies for managing up, managing down, employees/staff, navigating a multi-generational workforce, strategic planning, conflict resolution, team collaboration, diversity & inclusion, and cultural awareness - PLUS the sharpening of professional skills (public speaking, personal branding, and more).

    Each participant will be asked to complete a 360-degree assessment before the program begins with goal setting and check-ins scheduled throughout the entire program to measure his / her development and progress.

    Orientation to Greater New Haven Region
    Additional topics
    include:
    Understanding Greater New Haven's assets and opportunities, the challenges and benefits of doing business in the New Haven area, the resources and relationships to enable leaders to compete and be successful in the region. 

    Five Leadership Practices
    Each of the 5 leadership practices outlined in the national best-selling book, The Leadership Challenge: How to Make Extraordinary Things Happen in Organizations will be discussed. Participants will head the perspectives of successful business and community executives as they present and elaborate on each leadership practice:
    1.Model the Way
    2. Inspire a Shared Vision
    3. Challenge the Process
    4. Enable Others to Act
    5. Encourage the Heart 
    Each participant will receive a copy of the book and be given additional tools and resources, customized by our facilitators.

     

    During the Leadership Sessions, Participants will have a unique opportunity to apply their leadership competencies to solve real business issues. Leadership participants are divided into teams and assigned to solve a strategic challenge that will be identified by a nonprofit organization.
