    Graphic Design & Content Development Coordinator

    Type of Position: Full-time (with full benefits) in office position in New Haven, CT

    Hours: 40 hours per week

    Reports to: Vice President of Marketing & Program Development

    Qualifications for Role:

    · Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field

    · Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

    · Mastery of graphic design software: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

    · Solid knowledge of design and visual principles

    · Demonstrated portfolio showing creative, design and software skills

    · Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the Chamber needs in mind, and ability to communicate design choices clearly

    · Multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure

    Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    · Translating Chamber staff and client needs and branding strategies into design strategies

    · Designing visual concepts using graphic design tools including design software

    · Collaborating with Chamber staff, Chamber members, and / or other subject matter experts at member organizations (art directors, branding experts, website designers, marketing, content developers, and other professionals to create media)

    · Articulating and pitching design concepts to Chamber staff and Chamber member organizations

    · Creation and preparation of digital and for print materials to promote events, council meetings, and programs such as The Big Connect Business to Business ExpoBusiness After HoursLeadership Center, the New Haven Science Fair, and others:

    • Email marketing graphics (Constant Contact, Hubspot, etc.)
    • Social media graphics for posts, calendar, profile & cover photo (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter)
    • Website graphics
    • Ads for publication
    • Flyers and event signage
    • Invitations
    • Programs
    • PowerPoint templates
    • Forms & applications
    • Sell sheet templates

    Website updates and management (gnhcc.com, gnhccexpo.com, quinncham.com)

    o Assist with editing chamber websites

    o Create and upload approved banner ads (for sponsors & chamber events)

    o Work with Events & Communications Coordinator on content and web updates

    Video editing (Desired experience)

    o Expertise in editing new and existing video content

    o Add a text slide/ screen into videos, captions or graphic text and logos in the lower thirds of videos

    • Add music and/ or special graphic effects to videos


    o Assist Marketing & Communications team by photographing & video taping of events and programs as needed

    o Coordinate with Events & Communications Coordinator to post on social OR post directly to social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube)

    Asset Management & Archiving

    o Ensure original / raw / working files for all projects are backed up on Chamber drives ongoing

    o Keeper of Chamber logos and all up-to-date Chamber company member logos

    Additional Responsibilities

    o Assist with pre-event & post event planning and communications

    o Assist Chamber staff and volunteers during events

    o Support Chamber staff with creating materials for special projects or programs, as needed


    · Must be a U.S. Citizen and own a U.S. drivers’ license

    · Ability to work an in-person office environment in Chamber offices

    · Must be available for early morning events and evening events – on a monthly basis

    · Needs to occasionally move about inside the office and access file cabinets, office supplies, etc.

    · Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including but not limited to copy machine, projector, TV monitor

    · Occasionally, must be able to assist the team with event setup and take down
