    Description of Duties
    Type of Position:         Full-time (includes benefits)
    Hours:                         40 hours per week
    Reports to:                  President of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce
    The Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce strives to be the leading organization dedicated to serving North Haven, Wallingford and other regional businesses to promote community prosperity through advocacy, access to leaders, economic development, connectivity and business education.
    The Executive Director will oversee all operations of the Quinnipiac Chamber of Commerce.  This position is a public-facing role and will include regular public speaking and interaction with businesses and elected officials.  The Executive Director is also responsible for maintaining the Chamber’s budget, increasing and retaining members, and putting on major events as well as other duties as they arise.
    We are looking for a proven leader who is passionate about their work and practical.  This is a challenging job that requires problem solving, a positive attitude, and a roll-up your sleeves approach.  A track record of success in sales is critical.
    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

    • Manage all organizational aspects of the Chamber
    • Maintain and expand the Chamber’s revenue base
    • Manage the finances and budget of the organization
    • Manage a staff of two to three employees
    • Deliver programs and resources to Chamber members
    • Manage the production and execution of major events
    • Regularly communicate with the business community and Chamber members
    • Advocate on behalf of the business community with elected officials
    • Continuously review the Chamber model and have a strategic outlook to making change
    • Advance the Chamber’s digital functions through social media and video
    • Oversees administration of the Quinnipiac Chamber Charitable Trust in terms of fund growth and disbursement of funds to the community under guidance of the Executive Committee
    • Support the overall efforts of the Quinnipiac and Greater New Haven Chambers of Commerce
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned
     
    Qualifications Needed for this Position:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in either Business Management or other related field
    • Business development experience
    • Ability to manage diverse personalities
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent project management skills
    • Superb networking skills
    • Outgoing personality
